I guess I could say this was an end-of-year get together.
I invited friends over and set up Chinese hot pot which consisted of steaming, hot fish balls, fish dumplings, noodles, meat and veggies. Sauces like soy sauce, seafood sauce, and miso paste were available to combine to everyone's taste. And while we waited for it to cook we had a nice chat. I'd like to try Japanese hot pot aka sukiyaki in the 2011 future.
A friend made thumbprint cookies with strawberry jam which I thought was cute and they tasted good as well.
And for my share of cookies I made Vinegar Cookies. I had a craving for cookies the other night and the name of it interested me. It's ideal for anyone who is allergic to eggs as this recipe doesn't not contain it.
After making this two times I think it's better to refrigerate the dough for an hour or so. And the original recipe asked for way too much sugar. 3/4 to 1/2 cup of sugar should suffice. You can also add chocolate chips (again, less sugar) or nuts to your liking but I had nothing on hand.
It was easy to make and quick since this is as far in baking terms that I'm going to go.
HAPPY 2011 EVERYONE!

Happy New Year =)
Oh man, I had Chinese hot pot before. It's quite good. Sukiyaki for me, I have at home, but I reckon it's different when you go out and get some.
Have a great New Year!

I wish I could do ... well, anything. I'm pretty useless when it comes to all things domestic. Except for cleaning. I clean like an insane person because I am borderline germaphobic. So that's something.
xoxo.
