The Van Leeuwen truck is a grown-up's ice cream truck. It's also a pretty sight to see its soft yellow colored panels & pretty designed menu. Its menu consists of coffee/tea drinks and interesting flavors of ice cream.
They posted a free ice cream coupon @ http://Tenka.com (great site) and shameless me went to get some today. The guy didn't show any displeased attitude toward the freebie and even recommended me flavors. Not only that, he didn't need me to verify my coupon! Now that's good customer service and I'll definitely go back.
This winterly-spring weather on a typical NY day is perfect for ice cream. It won't melt under the sun and your fingers won't be freezing off either. I ordered the vanilla ice cream on cone. The price might not appeal to you ($4!!) but you can tell there's no artificial flavors nor overly sweet. Very creamy and not watery like my Mister Softee experiences. They have other interesting flavors like Earl Grey (might try next time), Hazelnut, *refer to website* Enjoyed it very very much. On my list, this stands next to Chinatown Ice Cream Factory (they have the asian/exotic flavors)
