here's to make up for my previous post not relating to food. I had such a long day but it was a delicious one...
I went there before a few times with friends. they're known for their black bean noodles but I thought it was mediocre. However their fried sweet and sour chicken was delicious :3
We ordered two seafood noodle soup(not spicy). They set banchan for us: kimchi, radish and preserved veggies. wasn't imppressive but the preserved vegetables had a nice flavor.
the noodle soup had a good amount of squid, some bamboo shoots, a shrimp, a clam and veggies. The soup had a good flavor but a lot of black pepper (?) taste to it unless you like it. The noodles texture was good not too soft. A bowl for $8.75 which almost ends up $10-11 each person including tax/tip. err an okay price for lunch in the city. (How much is it required in your country/state to tip waiters?)
(display case outside..yummm)
For dinner we went to Sapporo East. it's a small Japanese restaurant located at the corner of 10th street and first avenuedon't trust me on that. i just realized my very first post on this blog was about sapporo heehee. here
Our general orders were sashimi plates and tempura dinner boxes. Their sashimi and tempura were DELICIOUS. The sashimi were delicately cut and to a good size according to price. Tempura were fried well; no sogginess at all. We've tried the noodles before but i think there are better places to eat good udon or ramen. Japanese cuisine is my favorite so I might be a bit baised. This restaurant gives an original sushi bar feeling; it's cozy and friendly but not recommended for large groups.
And lastly, CAKE :O
taro cake surrounded with white chocolate
that's why as of now, I'm eating a huge piece of leftover cake :3
