Shared an appetizer platter of calamari (delicious), spring rolls, summer rolls, bbq chicken (yum), and cold sesame noodles (also yum).
Then we each ordered a burger, I picked the sirloin burger done medium rare. I love medium rare meat because I want tender; who would like chewy meat?! And it was SO GOOD. And keeping with it's name, the entree came in a bento format. I like being able to put the vegetables myself (light on the onions, heavy on lettuce, & tomato). The bbq sauce it came with was a good match. The side dishes were mediocre - some chips were burnt, salad was meh. And also on the expensive side.
BUT NO WORRIES! I had a half-off groupon on $40 spent (and with 4 people that was not a hard task). What's better than eating good food on your birthday? Being able to save money too!

Dessert stop was at the Big Gay Ice Cream Shop. I was ecstatic when I realized it wasn't far from burger place. I've been wanting to try their unique toppings especially when I found out they opened a shop recently. (It started out as a food truck and is still running around.)

You can say their menu is "Mister Softee meeting the rainbow nyan cat". I tried to infamous Salty Pimp. They have such outrageous names, quite fitting for their out-of-this-world topping combinations. This was vanilla ice cream + dulce du leche + SEA SALT + melted chocolate = some serious stuff...and requires concentration to devour because if you're not quick enough, the chocolate coating will fall off. I thought the ice cream was your average ice cream truck but their toppings win me over.
