Happy Rosh Hashanah to people who celebrate, and as for me I'm enjoying my long weekend off...by going back to school.
But just to try out this new espresso bar that opened right across the street!
Named MODA, it's a neat and small place wedged between the dorms and the graduates building. Their coffee prices are reasonable and menu also includes panini and salads. This I learned later that moda means fashion and explains why the dishes are named after fashion brands. And located at fashion institute - how perfect is that.
I chose the Fendi: smoked salmon (yum!) with greens, sprinkled capers and bread. The capers made it a little salty but their homemade dressing was delicious. I think it's a great combination because the vinaigrette is preventing the salmon from being overpowered by the fishy taste. $9 + an average iced tea.
Compared to Starbucks, some of their coffee prices are even cheaper! And tag along a 10% student discount, this won't be my only time here.
P.S. - today was National Coffee Day! But wasn't in the mood for some...did you get your cup of joe today?
