I have a friend who's vegetarian and it's not often she can go out with us for dinner. So at Buddha Bodai, they use soy bean to make most of the "meat" and other things. It's also gluten-free.
The appetizer plate was very nice with tofu and bean curd of different kinds(sour&sweet, fried, marinated).
This was my favorite dish: fried tofu with a glazed sauce and broccoli. There was something different about the tofu but nevertheless it was good.
The beef and egg drop noodles were okay. The egg drop part was done perfectly and the noodles were good. The "beef" was off though and didn't taste like meat.
And you wonder why it should taste like meat, because it's not real...when I was in Hong Kong I went to a vegetarian restaurant like this one. The fish and chicken which were made out of soy beans tasted like the real thing. I don't think I can find something like that here...
If I didn't have such delicious standards to compare to, I'd like the restaurant. Overall, everything was average. But I heard their dimsum is delicious so maybe I will visit again soon.
