Fro-Yo DIY

FROZEN YOGURT TODAY. Yumyum. I bought Greek yogurt from East Village Cheese the other day for $3. Enough to feed two people craving fro-yo. It took a grand amount of googling to make it without an ice cream maker.
I learned that you have to keep whipping the yogurt while it's freezing.

So I continued, by adding vanilla extract and as much condensed milk/sugar to my taste.
Every 15-30 minutes or so, I would take it out and break the iced parts and kept mixing it.
The outcome: I was able to achieve the fro-yo consistency, however not as smooth compared to Red Mango's or Pinkberry's (they're the lead fro-yo companies). Must have been the absence of a machine's work.

Sadly, I didn't have strawberries to enjoy the fro-yo. Nevertheless, this beats going to Red Mango and cheaper too. The fro-yo was more creamy and thick compared to the franchise places. It just requires a bit of labor.  :)

P.S. I reached 200 on my 365 day project

I'm too lazy to make my own froyo so I just buy it :D Your project looks great except the pictures are...so tiny! o_o. So I went to your xanga link, and I love the pictures you posted there, and then I laughed because I realized that was my fist time on xanga in like 5 years. I used to love that site.

Oh, I know about the stirring while frozen thing. I saw it on another blog a while back. Yeah, the other person also had a bit frosty product but you're right, it's way cheaper!

Also, heads up, Trader Joes sells the Fage for around $1.79 =D
